What Is Miles Above Fitness?

Miles Above Fitness was birthed in 2020 during the Pandemic. Its name serves as a Double Entendre, named after owners Marcus and Lori's son Miles, but highlights the true meaning of a fitness Journey. 

Miles Above Fitness believes that weight loss includes, Lifestyle Changes, Moderation, Nutrition, Sacrifice and Compromise. It's more than just fitness, it's a community.

My name is Marcus Jamison

As owner of Miles Above Fitness, LLC., I specialize in weight loss, corrective exercise, sports performance and mobility training for clients. We also have a recovery department that includes percussion therapy, compression therapy and SMR.

As a retired athlete with a BA in science and a minor in Sports Medicine from Winston Salem State University, I understand the dedication it takes to make needed lifestyle changes that improves the daily quality of life.

My name is Lori Tyson-Jamison

I am the other half of Miles Above Fitness, LLC. I hold multiple certifications in other disciplines such as Les Mills Body Pump, RPM, Zumba Fitness and indoor cycling. I also help to lead L2 Fitness, an extension of Miles Above Fitness, where we conduct Weekly Cardio Dance classes and Total Body Fitness. 

Originally from Charlotte, NC, I decided to stay in Winston-Salem after receiving her B.S. in Biology (‘09) from Winston-Salem State University.  As a certified personal trainer from the National Council on Strength and Fitness and a group fitness instructor, I wanted to further my education by obtaining a M.S. in Food and Nutritional Sciences (‘16) from North Carolina A&T State University. Throughout my life, I was involved in sports and fitness as a student athlete, coach and I have worked in the fitness industry for over ten years.

My name is Leni Caldwell

As co-owner of L2 Fitness, I have paired my passion for dancing and helping others find a love for letting loose while exercising, I started instructing Zumba classes in 2013. I have instructed at a variety of fitness venues in different formats including Gold's Gym, Wake Forest University, Curves, YMCA, and more.

 

I’m an enthusiastic educator who serves as a Visiting Clinical Professor in the Department of Education at WFU. My other passions include volunteering with my husband as a guardian ad litem, serving on professional and philanthropic boards, and listening to books in my daily life.
